The fastest way to lose a brand deal is a media kit with numbers from last spring. Brands read an undated stat as an old stat. This routine takes ten minutes a month.

Minute 1–3: refresh the numbers

Update followers, average reach, average views and story views, then write today's date next to them. Recalculate your engagement rate from your last nine posts, not your lifetime average — the method is in how to calculate engagement rate.

Minute 4–5: check your audience split

Age, gender and top countries drift slowly, but they do drift. If your top country changed, that changes which brands you should be pitching. See traffic by country on your media kit.

Minute 6–7: swap in your best new work

Remove the weakest content sample and add your best post from the last month. Keep the total at three to six. If a collaboration produced a real result, turn it into a two-line case study using the format in case studies that win brand deals.

Minute 8–9: revisit your rate card

Rates should move when your reach or your workload does. Re-check them against typical influencer rates in 2026 and against your own rate card example. Confirm usage rights and exclusivity terms still reflect what you are willing to sell.

Minute 10: read it as a brand would

One pass, top to bottom, asking the five questions a brand asks: who is your audience, what are your numbers, what have you made, what does it cost, how do I book you. If any answer is missing, fix that before anything else. Refresher: what brands actually look for.

Why a link makes this possible

A PDF you emailed in March cannot be updated — every old copy is still out there with old numbers. A live online media kit updates everywhere the moment you save. That difference is the whole argument in media kit template PDF: when it helps, when it costs you the deal and the complete online setup.

Set a monthly reminder, open your ADLiked kit, and spend the ten minutes. It is the cheapest deal-winning habit you have.

Build it online instead of in a file

If you would rather use an online media kit maker than edit a document, compare the options first: media kit maker vs builder vs generator, or see what a free online media kit creator should include.
