How many YouTube views do you need to make $10,000 a month?

The AdSense math is brutal — but views aren't the only lever. Realistic numbers, and why sponsorships change the equation completely.

If you rely on AdSense alone, the honest answer is: a lot. At a typical RPM (revenue per 1,000 views) of $2–$8 for most niches, $10,000 a month means roughly 1.3 to 5 million views monthly. In finance or B2B niches where RPM hits $15–$30, you might get there with 350–700k views. Either way, AdSense-only is a volume game most creators never win.

The lever that changes the math: sponsorships

A sponsored integration pays $20–$50 per 1,000 expected views — five to ten times AdSense. A channel averaging 50,000 views per video can charge $1,000–$2,500 per integration. Four sponsored videos a month plus AdSense gets a mid-size channel to $10k without needing millions of views.

What sponsors need to see before paying that

  • Average views, not subscriber count. Your last 10 videos' median views is the number they price on.
  • Audience demographics. A US-heavy audience in a buying demographic doubles your rate.
  • Niche fit. A 40k-subscriber personal finance channel out-earns a 200k prank channel.
  • A media kit. Sponsors at this level don't DM back and forth for your stats — they expect a page with your numbers, audience and rates. Ours covers exactly this: influencer media kit guide.

Stacking the rest

Channels that sustainably hit $10k/month typically combine: AdSense ($1–3k), sponsorships ($4–6k), affiliates ($1–2k), and their own product or UGC work for other brands (see our UGC rate card guide). Views feed all of it, but no single stream has to carry the number alone.

The takeaway

Stop optimizing only for views — optimize for being buyable. When a sponsor finds your channel, your ADLiked media kit should already have your average views, audience and rates waiting. That page is worth more than your next 100k views.
