UGC Portfolio Examples: What Brands Look For (and What Gets Skipped)

A UGC portfolio is the section brands scroll first and judge fastest. These UGC portfolio examples are structures, not screenshots: patterns you can copy onto your own UGC creator media kit today.

Example 1 — The specialist grid

Six to nine assets, all in one category: skincare, supplements, home, or food. Every thumbnail looks like the same creator made it, because it did. Specialists get booked at higher rates than generalists because the brand can predict the output. Caption each tile with the deliverable and the format: "3-video bundle, unboxing + application + testimonial, 9:16."

Example 2 — The results-led portfolio

Same gallery, but each item carries one metric line: spend, CTR, ROAS, thumbstop rate or cost per acquisition, with the brand's permission. This is the single strongest upgrade available to an experienced UGC creator — performance marketers buy proof, not aesthetics. Where you can't share client data, use the honest version: "hook variant tested across 4 creatives, selected as the scale winner."

Example 3 — The hook reel

One embedded video, 45 to 60 seconds, stitching 8 to 12 of your best openers back to back. It answers the only question a paid media buyer has: can this person write and perform a hook? Put it above the grid and keep the grid as the deep dive.

Example 4 — The spec-work starter

No paid clients yet? Build the portfolio anyway. Pick three brands you genuinely use, make one video each as if briefed, and label it clearly as concept work. Consistency and craft are what a first client is buying. This is also the fastest route from zero to a credible content creator resume.

What gets skipped

  • Google Drive folders. Nobody opens a folder of MP4 files with camera filenames.
  • Twenty assets. More work reads as less curation. Show your best six to nine.
  • Uncaptioned tiles. A thumbnail with no deliverable label makes the brand guess your scope.
  • PDF portfolios. Video is the product; a static file can't play it.

How to lay it out on your page

Order matters: showreel, then the gallery, then deliverables and your UGC rate card, then results and testimonials, then contact or booking link. Anything a brand needs before saying yes goes above the fold; anything that supports the yes goes below. You can reorder every one of these sections in your dashboard.

Questions from the UGC subreddits

"How many videos before I start pitching?" Three is enough to pitch, six is enough to charge confidently. Creators on Reddit consistently report landing their first paid job off three well-made spec videos.

"Can I show work a brand never used?" Yes, unless your contract forbids it. Delivered-but-unrun content is still your craft on display — just don't attach performance claims to it.

When your portfolio is ready, wrap it in the rest of the kit using the media kit maker and send one link instead of five attachments.
